EWS odds on favourite with William Hill

The last thing on customers’ minds when taking a punt on the annual boat race, Cheltenham Gold Cup or 2.15 at Epsom is whether the air con or heating is functioning adequately. But thanks to Eaton-Williams Service, customers of William Hill are relaxing in a comfortable conditioned environment.

William HillFollowing an invitation to tender, EWS secured the contract to supply comprehensive service and maintenance for the company’s licensed betting offices in the Southeast. This covers 220 sites across south London, Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.

The company has over 2,000 licensed betting offices in the UK, over 300,000 telephone clients worldwide, making the company the largest telephone betting organisation and operates the fastest growing Internet gambling site of any UK based betting company.

“Winning the William Hill contract further consolidates EWS ’presence in the high street and highlights the company’s versatility in being able to address the requirements of customers irrespective of the industry” cites John Wright, EWS General Manager.

All EWS engineers have a broad skill set which is regularly updated. This enables the company to provide a service for equipment from any of the leading manufacturers. From straightforward comfort cooling installations to close control environments and heating applications.

At William Hill, EWS is primarily managing all the split air conditioning units and ventilation, with some of the offices having a heating requirement where there are small boilers in situ.

Because of the nature of William Hill’s business EWS has adopted a different approach to maximise its own efficiencies and productivity and minimise disruption for each licensed betting office.

Selective scheduling ensures that the same engineer attends to ensure familiarity and continuity within a given geographical area. In practice this ensures that several sites in a particular area are attended in the same day and all work is carried out with minimal disruption whilst the betting offices are open.

EWS attends each site four times a year as part of a planned maintenance schedule

Much of the work is preventative maintenance, changing filters, checking refrigerants, fans and pipe work. But by carrying out regular maintenance checks, William Hill is maximising operational efficiency and extending the longevity of its plant.

EWS also provides a reactive service addressing any problems as they arise within a given time frame. But the regular service and maintenance programme ensures that call-outs are minimal as most problems are highlighted long before they become an issue.
