CTXe Packaged Air Handling Units
Application
CTXe units are designed as highly reliable air handling systems for equipment
rooms and other similar applications. They are designed to be mounted outside
external walls and therefore do not take up any internal room space.
The CTXe air handling unit uses three methods to control room temperature:
1. Refrigeration Cooling Mode.
In Refrigeration Cooling mode, the unit maintains the correct temperature by
removing heat from the warm room air as it passes through the evaporator.
2. Fresh Air Cooling Mode (optional).
In Fresh Air Cooling mode, the unit maintains the correct temperature by using
cooler ambient air in a ratio controlled by the unit microprocessor.
3. Electric Heating Mode (optional with FX-05 Controller only).
In Electric Heating Mode, the unit maintains the correct room temperature by
heating the return air, using electric heaters.
The range can be divided into three main groups:
- Basic version: Direct Expansion, (DX), refrigeration cooling only.
- DX + “Fresh Air”, (FA): The addition of the FA option enables the unit to maintain room temperature using either DX or FA cooling.
- FX-05 Controller: This version allows the controller to operate the unit in FA modulating mode or combined DX & FA cooling mode, depending on temperature conditions.
